Art & credits

Fine art is part of the conversation here. Museum artwork appears with credits; member work belongs to its respective creators.

  • Wheat Field with Cypresses — Vincent van Gogh, 1889. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, public domain.
  • Composition with Red, Yellow, and Blue — Piet Mondrian, 1927. Cleveland Museum of Art, CC0.
  • Classical sculpture imagery, including Marcus Aurelius and a marble philosopher: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, public domain.
  • Instrument Serif and DM Sans are open-source typefaces. The sound study uses original synthesized tones.

Consult each artwork’s displayed credit for its source. “A thought to carry” is original editorial copy, not a historical quotation.
