Live moments. Considered meetings.
Go live to a feed
Choose Go live on any feed, enter a title and choose audio or video. Set up livestream opens your preview. Allow microphone or camera access, select your devices, and wait for the enabled sources to show Sending. Start livestream publishes those sources. Only the account that created an individual livestream can start or end it. Keep its broadcasting tab open; leaving or closing it stops your capture.
Anyone can play a public livestream directly in its post without signing in or joining a meeting. candoany’s adaptive video player includes playback, volume, quality and fullscreen controls, plus picture-in-picture where supported. Quality adjusts to the broadcast and your connection. Sound may require pressing Play or Unmute in the video. If playback stalls, the player attempts to reconnect; Reload player also reconnects playback and refreshes the room. Your volume and mute choices are preserved.
Host or join a room
For a call inside Messages, open an accepted conversation and choose Video call or Audio call. Its current accepted members can join directly from the conversation’s call card, without sharing a room invitation. Messages calls cannot broadcast publicly, and leaving or removal from the conversation revokes call access. The same persistent meeting window and quality controls apply. Read the Messages calling guide.
Choose Host a group call to create a public or private voice or video room. Public rooms appear in the selected feed; private rooms stay out of public listings and cannot broadcast to a public feed. Joining a room requires sign-in. Private guests need its current invitation link. The host can replace that invitation; previous links then stop admitting new people. Opening a link does not automatically turn on a camera or microphone.
Video rooms support up to 10 participants and voice rooms up to 100. Camera and microphone controls are explicit. Leave call disconnects your media; End room for everyone closes the room for all participants after confirmation. Public-room broadcast controls remain with the host; candoany’s existing public-room moderation rules also apply to ending a public group room.
Your meeting controls
Use the call toolbar to mute or unmute your microphone, turn your camera on or off, share or stop sharing your screen in supported video-call browsers, adjust listening volume or mute incoming sound. Device settings select your microphone and camera. Selecting a device while muted does not turn it on. Speaker selection appears only where the browser supports it; otherwise change the operating system’s output device.
Choose Gallery or Speaker view, pin a participant locally, and use Fullscreen where supported. Expand meeting gives the call more screen space without recreating its media session; Compact meeting returns to a smaller window. Video, microphones and any shared-tab audio continue through the same call connection. Your own preview stays muted to prevent feedback. A screen or tab shares sound only when the browser offers it and you select that option.
Host controls that enforce admission
Open Host controls to lock or unlock the room, replace a private invitation, inspect admitted participants, remove a participant, or allow a removed person to rejoin. Locking prevents new participants while current participants remain connected. Removing revokes that room connection and blocks that account from rejoining until the host chooses Allow to rejoin. Allowing someone again does not join them automatically or bypass a lock or private invitation.
In the in-call participant panel, hosts with provider-granted permissions can mute other microphones, stop another camera, or mute everyone else. These controls never remotely turn someone’s camera or microphone on. Participants must choose to enable their own media. Pinning and listening-volume changes affect only your view or speakers.
Quality, connection and privacy
candoany requests up to 1920 × 1080 camera video at 30 fps and full-band 48 kHz audio with stereo where supported. The media service negotiates high-bitrate Opus up to 128 kbps with packet-loss protection. Voice mode keeps echo cancellation and conversation processing; Original sound requests those effects off for music. Use headphones with Original sound. Actual sent and received quality adapts to devices, browser support and network conditions; a target is not a guarantee of fixed resolution or lossless audio.
Video calls adapt the delivered resolution for each participant’s connection and view. Source and connection details report measured values where available. Use Enable call sound if a browser blocks incoming audio. A failed initial media connection automatically tries a relay route. If it still cannot connect, choose Retry connection to request a fresh connection. Your microphone and camera remain off until you enable them. Account changes close the previous capture, while feed navigation keeps an active call connected.
Public broadcasts can include participants’ enabled microphones, cameras and screen shares. Keep personal information out of a public call. Private meeting rosters are available only to the host and admitted participants, and removed-account management is host-only. candoany does not automatically record meetings. This interface does not offer cloud recording, captions, breakout rooms or external Zoom/FaceTime account integration.
